Randy Elliott, Sr.

James Randy "Big Randy" Elliott, Sr., 61, of 178 Haywood Smith Road, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Mr. Elliott was born in Perquimans County on January 21, 1954, and was the son of the late Oliver Cecil and Marie White Elliott. A farmer, he was employed with Andy Smith Farms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Elliott, and by a half-sister, Ann Handy. Surviving are his two daughters, Kimberly Anne Elliott of Elizabeth City and Jenny Marie Elliott of Tyner; a son, James Randy Elliott, Jr. and wife Brittany of Edenton; seven sisters, Louise O'Neal, Kathryn Lane, Ruth White, Beverly Forbes, and Sandra Amidon, all of Elizabeth City, Joyce Spafford of Winfall, and Carolyn White of Hertford; a half-sister, Marie Tillett of Elizabeth City; three brothers, Robert Elliott of Hertford and Ronnie and Bobby Elliott, both of Elizabeth City; a half-brother, Cecil Elliott, also of Elizabeth City; and four grandchildren, Jimmie Ritter, IV, Kaydence Kisner, Mariah Stokley, and Brock Elliott. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by Pastor James Spaugh. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
