Richard Dale Gilbert

Richard Dale Gilbert, 57, of 306 Yeopim Trail, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Mr. Gilbert was born in Crestview, Florida on January 30, 1958, and was the son of Mary Elizabeth Nixon Moser of Edenton and the late Robert Richard Gilbert. He had formerly worked in home construction, specializing in both flooring and roofing. In addition to his mother he is survived by a daughter, Kaitlin Gilbert of Portsmouth, VA; a sister, Karen Harrison of Suffolk, VA; two brothers, Wayne Gilbert and Jeffrey Gilbert, both of Edenton; a granddaughter, Madison Dixon; and a life long friend and mother of his daughter, Maria Elkins of Edenton. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be officiated by the Rev. Danny Gurganus, pastor.
