Herbert Nicholas Mace, III

Herbert Nicholas Mace, III, 67, of 140 Long Beach Drive, Hertford, NC, died Friday, October 30, 2015 in his home. Mr. Mace was born in Pottawattamie County, IA on December 12, 1947. A veteran, he retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Sonner Draper, and by his son, John David Clark. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Terry Henderson Mace; a daughter, Amy Marie Bell and husband Aaron of Chesapeake, VA; two sons, Greg and Steven Mace, both of Iowa; and four grandchildren, Ashlyn, Aiden, Brendan, and Gunnar. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the residence. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
