Hayward Spruill

Lloyd Hayward Spruill, 49, of 208 Pocahontas Trail, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Hayward was born in Pasquotank County on March 12, 1966 and was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary McClenney Spruill. For 15 years he was the manager of the McDonald's in Edenton, and later worked as a driver with Greenleaf Plant Farm. He was a member of First Christian Church of Edenton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Darlene Harmen Mumer; a brother, Steven Spruill; and a step-son, Timothy Holcomb. Surviving are his wife, Laura Collins Spruill; three sons, Bryan Spruill of Edenton, Zach Spruill and Justin Spruill, both of Williamston; two step-sons, John Holcomb of Edenton and Thomas Holcomb and wife Jessica of St. Louis, Michigan; a sister, Barbara Cobb and husband Scott of Ahoskie; two brothers, Bobby Wiggins and wife Betsy of Edenton and Lonnie Foxworth and wife Betty of Marion, SC; and six grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
