Roxie Chrisman Toti

Roxie Chrisman Toti, 88, of 311 Main Street, Gatesville, NC, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Down East Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gatesville. Mrs. Toti was born in Bevier, Missouri on October 10, 1927, and was the oldest of 10 children born to the late Roscoe Riley and Ruth Isabelle Reginald Chrisman. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Gatesville Woman's Club, the Eastern Star, and had served on both the Heart Fund Committee and the Rural Health Board. When her children were young, Mrs. Toti was an active volunteer in the school system as well as the home extension office. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Antoine Endre "Tony" Toti, Jr., a sister, Anella, and by a daughter, Beatrice. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Jean Toti of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons, Antoine Endre "Butch" Toti, III and wife Sheila of Newport News, VA and Paul Toti and wife Barbara of Hobbsville; eight grandchildren, Eric Cowan, Andrew Toti and wife Emily, David, Christopher, Alex, Ashley, and Nolan Toti, and Sandra Hutton; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; eight siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jeffrey A. Douglas. Friends may join the family in the church parish hall immediately following the service. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
