Scott Van Cayton

Scott Van Cayton, 61, of Main Street Extended, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City. Scott was born in Pasquotank County on July 28, 1954, and was the son of the late William "Little Bud" and Elizabeth Trueblood Cayton. He had been employed for many years as a brick mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Twiddy Cayton; a son, Scottie Cayton; and by his five brothers, Bryan, Rudy, Ted, Douglas, and Jeff Cayton. Surviving are his companion, Debbie Twiddy and her daughter, Teri Twiddy Lloyd; his two grandchildren whom he loved to spend time with, Ezura Twiddy and Gage Lloyd; two aunts, Betty Trueblood Griffin and Phyllis Trueblood Harris; two uncles, Phillip Trueblood and wife Elaine and Ricky Trueblood and wife Caroline; and close friends, Butch Hampton and Rick Bilger. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Charles Creek Park, Elizabeth City, a place that was very dear to him where he loved to spend time and fished.
