Shirley Lowe Crabtree

Shirley Ann Lowe Crabtree, 80, of Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in her home. Mrs. Crabtree was born in Cleveland, OH on May 24, 1935, and was the daughter of the late William Clyde and Mary Louise Hamm Lowe. A retired nurse, she was a Lutheran by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Ann Crabtree, a brother, Thomas Lowe, and by a son-in-law, Andy Pirro. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Arvin Donald Crabtree; three daughters, Elaine Moore of Virginia, Jeanene Houston and husband William of Michigan, and Margaret Pirro of Maryland; two sons, John Crabtree and wife Jacqueline of North Carolina and Eric Crabtree of Ohio; a brother, Kevin Lowe and wife Gloria of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
