Jonathan Ray Castillo, 31, of Plentiful Creek Lane, Spotsylvania, VA, and formerly of Hertford, NC, died Friday, November 20, 2015.
Jonathan was born in Portsmouth, VA on January 14, 1984, and was the son of Jacqueline Diaz Forrest and her husband John of Hertford and Fermin Castillo of Tampa, FL. Employed as a commercial truck driver with Valley Proteins, he was a member of Whiteville Grove Baptist Church and was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Antonia Castillo.
Surviving are his daughter, Madison; a son, Derrick; his beloved girlfriend, Lindsay; a sister, Nikki and her husband Ruben of Falling Waters, WV; two brothers, Jeremy of Martinsburg, WV and Michael of Havelock; maternal grandparents; Ramiro and Juoquina Diaz; paternal grandfather, Orlando Castillo, Sr., all of Tampa; and many aunts, uncles and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Rev. Lonnie Coker. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to the chapel service, and again in the social hall of Piney Woods Friends Meeting immediately following the graveside service.
