Freddie Wilson Berry, Sr.

Freddie Wilson Berry, Sr., 59, of 1934 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in his home.

   Mr. Berry was born in Pasquotank County on April 21, 1956, and was the son of the late Willie and Mary Luceba Godfrey Berry. A supervisor, he retired from Universal Forest Products. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nona Marie Berry.

   Surviving are his wife of nearly 18 years, Gina Layden Berry; a daughter, Misty Berry Wooten and husband Nick; a son, Freddie Wilson Berry, Jr. and wife Danielle, all of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Ann Berry Pierce and husband Wayne, also of Elizabeth City and Kathy Berry Lee and husband Tony of Merry Hill; a brother, Wilbur Ray Berry of Shiloh; and four grandchildren, Gracie and Payton Wooten and Dylan and Kayleigh Berry.

   A gathering for family and friends will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. All other times, friends may join the family at Freddie, Jr. and Danielle's home, 315 Travis Drive, Elizabeth City.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Northeastern NC, 100 Wilson Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
