Doris Davenport Hardison

Doris Lee Davenport Hardison, 80, of 212 Oak Hill Drive, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.

   Mrs. Hardison was born in Washington County, NC on April 10, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Foy Garland and Clara Mae Clifton Davenport. A homemaker, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Haywood G. “Bud” Davenport.

   Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Jack Shepard Hardison, Sr.; her son, Jack S. Hardison, Jr. and wife Andrea of Winterville; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Holly, and Hunter.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. David Brooks. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services, and all other times at the residence.

   The family requests that flowers be omitted, and contributions be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
