O. Eugene Moore

Oley Eugene Moore, 76, of 508 Sign Pine Road, Tyner, NC, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Moore was born on September 14, 1939, and was the son of the late Frank and Irene Bright Moore. A retired driver with both Estes and Schneider Truck Lines, he was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Roxie Moore.

   Surviving are his wife of over 43 years, Mavis Ward Moore; four sons, Randy Moore of Hertford, Gene Moore and wife Phyllis of Gatesville, Glenn Moore and wife Becky of Hertford, and Kenneth Moore and wife Nicole of Edenton; two sisters, Louise Brown of Hobbsville and Faye Hollowell of Florence, SC; four brothers, Edward Moore and Mike Moore, both of Sunbury, Gilbert Moore of Eure, and Shirley Moore of Chester, VA; and three grandchildren, Zack, Calvin, and Kennan.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Gene Asbill. A private burial will be held in the Ward Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service, and all other times at the residence.
