Vonnie Brown

On December 10, 2015, Anita Stillman Brown, better known as Vonnie Brown, of Hertford, NC, passed away in her home.

   A retired banker, she was the daughter of the late C.J. and Marial Gibbs Stillman and the step-daughter of the late Barbara White Stillman. Vonnie grew up in Edenton and graduated from John A. Holmes High School.

   Surviving are her husband, Michael Brown; her son, Bill Jennings; her granddaughter, Sylvia Jennings; and by a very loving, daughter-like friend, Betsy Herlihy. Also surviving are her three step-daughters, Tracie Simpson and husband Jeff and their children, Savannah, Tanner, and Scarlett; Elizabeth Brown and her children, Kennan, Connor, Kira, and Kyndall; and Amber Dunn and husband Eddie and their daughter, Addie; and her adopted daughter, Teresa Jennings White.

   A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Baptist Church in Elizabeth City. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.

   Vonnie asked that any donations be made to McConnell Raab Hope Lodge, 930 Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
