Doris Page Rogers

   Doris Page Rogers, 73, of Portsmouth, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 in Maryview Medical Center.

   Born and raised in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Hal K. and Doris Josephine Deans Rogers. In her late 30’s, she went back to college and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Her chosen profession was serving as a case worker for the mentally ill. After retiring, she continued to advocate for those she had served.

   Surviving family members are: eldest son, Brenton J. Lago, middle child, her daughter, Pilar A. Lago, and the youngest, twin sons, Enrique F. Lago and Rogers M. Lago; her only sibling, brother, Hal Kitchen “Butch” Rogers, Jr. and wife Nancy; and cousins, Gregory, David, and Carl Dodd, and Kenny Strayer.

   There will only be a private service. In her memory, individuals may make a contribution to those causes that were close to her heart, The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, or at Diabetes.org/donate; or to any local battered women’s shelter.
