Charlie Ruben Lassiter

   Charlie Ruben Lassiter, 84, of 342 Water Swamp Road, Sunbury, NC, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in W. R. Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Lassiter was born in Gates County on March 18, 1931, and was the son of the late Maywood Corbell and Mildred Pierce Lassiter. A retired barber, he was a US Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Lassiter.

   Surviving are his sister-in-law, Barbara Lassiter; his niece, Elizabeth Lassiter and husband Mark McCraw; and a great-nephew, Isaac.

   A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal Church Parish House. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
