Anna Rea Chappell Winslow

   Anna Rea Chappell Winslow, 84, of 613 Gliden Road, Belvidere, NC,  passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 in her home.

   Mrs. Winslow was born in Chowan County on April 30, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Alvin and Dessie Parks Chappell.  Retired from CenturyLink, she was a faithful member of Warwick Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorrie Mae Chappell and husband Wallace.

   Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Harry Lee Winslow; two sons, Joseph Lee “Joey” Winslow and wife Florence, Alvin Winslow and wife Deane; a daughter, Harriet Anna Winslow and husband Jarvis “Dickie”, all of Belvidere; six grandchildren, Jennifer Thach and husband Lee, Nichole Layden and husband Brandon, Allison Eure and husband Towe, Jamie Winslow, Wallace Winslow and wife Maddy, and Lindsay Winslow; four great-granddaughters, Savanna Layden, Ava Thach, Sydney Eure, and Rylee Layden; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Gene Asbill.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may join the family Saturday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and all other times at the residence.

   The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Mrs. Winslow’s special caregiver, Tara Clark, for the care given to the family during their time of need.
