Marie Stocks Morgan

   Clemmie Marie Stocks Morgan, 86, of 18 Stocks Lane, Corapeake, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 in her home where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Morgan was born in Pitt County, NC on July 10, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Zeno and Minnie Irene Suggs Stocks. A homemaker, she was affectionately known as “Lady Bug” by her family, and in life was a loving wife, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and member of Eureka Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Julius Morgan, Sr.; sisters, Mary Stocks Johnson and Christine Stocks Oakley; brothers, Kerren, Donald, Dick, and Zeno Marvin Stocks, and by half-brothers, Ray and Jack Stocks.

   Surviving are two daughters, Marie Yvonne Smith and husband Tracy and Brenda Lee Morgan, all of Corapeake; two sons, Kenneth Ray Morgan, Sr. and wife Cindy of Melbourne, FL and Walter Julius Morgan, Jr. and wife Darlene of Norfolk, VA; a step-daughter, Judith Harris of Mount Olive; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Anita Bill and husband James of Hope Mills; a special nephew, Kinsey Whitley and wife Brenda of Wilson; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Eureka Baptist Church by the Rev. Cameron Currin and the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the church social hall immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
