Janice Bowen

   Janice Bowen, 86, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edenton.

   Miss Bowen was born in Bertie County on January 1, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Edward Worley and Pattie Cobb Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Archie Bowen, Miles Bowen, and Carroll Bowen; a sister, Eva Bowen Miller; nieces, Betty Lou Miller, Patsy Miller Bell and Joyce M. Magruder; and a nephew, Starkey E. Miller.

   She is survived by her devoted sister, Mary Alice Bowen Jones and husband Leon of Greensboro, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Hannah Williams of Edenton.

   A private memorial service will be held at Riverside Baptist Church.

   The family would especially like to thank all of her caregivers and friends at Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and devotion to Janice.
