George Emerson White, Jr.

   George Emerson White, Jr., 61, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 in his home.

   Mr. White was born in Pasquotank County on August 10, 1954, and was the son of the late George Emerson, Sr. and Glennie Lee Chambers White. He retired from City Beverage Company after 26 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emily White.

   Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Linda Jo White; a daughter, Claire White; two sons, Mark Cartwright and Dennis Perry and wife Brittney; and a granddaughter, Morgan Perry, all of Elizabeth City.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in St. Philips Chapel, 200 S. McMorrine St., Elizabeth City, and will be officiated by The Rev. Chip Broadfoot. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
