Marshia Irene Tarkington Stevenson

   Marshia Irene Tarkington Stevenson, 59, of 106 Myrtle Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 in her home.

   Mrs. Stevenson was born in Chowan County on September 23, 1956, and was the daughter of the late Paul Alton and Frances Harrell Tarkington. She was formerly employed with Pelikan Corp. and as a cashier in the grocery business.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Williams, and by brothers, James and Frank Tarkington.

   Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Dalton D. Stevenson; two daughters, Tabitha Edwards of Windsor and Sandra Stevenson of Ahoskie; four sisters, Betty T. Forbes of Sanford, Vickie T. Ange and husband Phillip and Lena T. Davenport and husband Dean, all of Plymouth, and Norma T. Phillips and husband James of Roper; a brother, Jimmie Tarkington of Roper; and two grandchildren, Steven Tyler Edwards and Hailey Summer Sawyer.

   A Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Howard Simpson. Friends may join the family in the funeral home following the service and all other times at the residence.
