Annie Laurie Beasley Skinner

   Annie Laurie Beasley Skinner, 98, of Chambers Ferry Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Mrs. Skinner was born in Chowan County on September 9, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Robert Augustus and Johnnie Florence Outlaw Beasley. A homemaker, she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a charter member of the Advance Home Demonstration Club, and had served as 4-H Leader. Her family, whom she loved dearly, always considered her a master of everything she did.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jarvis Cecil Skinner; her son, Larry Skinner; her son-in-law, Gary McCann; and sisters, Mattie Taylor, Elizabeth Barrington, Bertha Taylor, and Margaret Jordan.

   Surviving are three daughters, Gail S. Bunch (Harold Lloyd) and Georgia S. McCann, both of Edenton, and Shirley Gwen Belcredi (Lindsey Knotts) of Raleigh; a son, Robert Beasley Skinner (Patsy) of Raleigh; a daughter-in-law, Mary Skinner of Edenton; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Bob Young. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service on Saturday, and all other time at Gail and Harold Lloyd’s home, 918 Virginia Road, Edenton.
