Margaret White Jezard

   Margaret Lee White Jezard, 73, of 1232 Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016.

   Mrs. Jezard was born in the Corapeake community of Gates County on August 10, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Wilson and Virgie Lee Bunch White. The former owner and operator of BERMAR Gas Service, Inc., she was a member of VFW Post 6060 Ladies Auxiliary, and as a child was baptized into the fellowship of Ramoth-Gilead Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Thomas "Bert" Jezard, and by her brother, Billy C. White.

   Surviving are her daughter, Jo Ann Jezard (Edward Hollomon), and her son, John J. Jezard (Lynsie), all of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Lucy Lawendowski of South Mills and Connie McDaniel of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Hunter, Preston, Tera Lynn, and Vera; and a great-granddaughter, Kandie.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Ramoth-Gilead Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service, and a private burial will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
