Robert Ernest Peirce

   Robert Ernest Peirce, 86, of Mexico Road, Edenton, NC, and formerly of Youngsville, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Peirce was born in Hempstead, New York on December 4, 1929, and was the son of the late Robert and Clarissa Noon Peirce. The retired owner/operator of an in-ground swimming pool installation business, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 82nd Airborne.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mary Witkowski Peirce, and his son, Renni Dale Peirce.

   Surviving are his children, Susan Peirce McCuiston and husband Daryl of Edenton, Maureen DeSouza and husband Boris of Maryland, and Robert Emerson Peirce and wife Andrea of Edenton; two sisters, Edith Peirce MacCary of Smithtown, NY and Bell Peirce Raimondo of Nassau, NY; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service with military honors will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Following the service there will be a time for visitation with the family.
