Alfred F. Muzer, Sr., 81, of 96 Old Rail Bed, Gates, NC, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 in his home.
Mr. Muzer was born in Hoboken, NJ on October 1, 1934, and was the son of the late Adam J. and Bertha Halmo Muzer. A retired maintenance supervisor from the City of Warsaw in Warsaw, FL, he thoroughly enjoyed several hobbies including carpentry, cabinet making, and horticulture, and was always known for his great sense of humor. A veteran, he had served in the US Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jane Stork Muzer, and by a brother, Adam Muzer.
Surviving are his two daughters, Peggy Vingara of New Jersey and Joan Muzer of Florida; two sons, Alfred Muzer, Jr. and Kurt Muzer, both of New Jersey; two step-daughters, Doreen Dranham of Michigan and Barbara Ann Shiffer of New Jersery; two step-sons, Robert Ditzel and Timothy Ditzel, both of New Jersey; a sister, Bernadine Boesher of Colorado; a brother, Art Muzer of Florida; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tonya Williams; and many cousins including two special cousins, Madilyn Miller and Marsha Riley.
At his request, no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
