Frances Keeter Lane

   Frances Keeter Lane, 90, of 1621 Lane’s Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Monday, March 28, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Mrs. Lane was born on March 1, 1926 in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late Charles Norman and Hilda Frances Langdale Keeter. A homemaker, in years past she had worked at Rose’s Dept. Store, Cannon’s Ferry Fishery, and with her local precinct in the Chowan County Board of Elections.  She attended First of Assembly of God Church in Edenton.

   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood E. Lane; her daughter, Sally Jane Lane Moore; sisters, Eunice Hughes and Mary Alice Bazemore; and by her brother, Calvin Keeter.

   Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Conner and husband Don of Windsor, Laura Forehand and husband Wayne of Edenton, and Barbara Lane of Edenton; two sons, David Lane and wife Leila and Johnny Lane and wife Tara, all of Edenton; two brothers, Aubrey Keeter of Ohio and Lewis Keeter of Nakina; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

   Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Nixon Family Cemetery and will be officiated by The Rev. Randy Pierce. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at Laura and Wayne’s home, 1218 Cofield Point Road, Edenton.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sally’s Fight Relay for Life Team, in care of Kristen Parks, 2019 County Line Road, Belvidere, NC 27919, or to First Assembly of God Church, 1201 W. Queen Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
