Patrick John Wemple

   Patrick John Wemple, 64, of 624 Rocky Hock Creek Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.

   Mr. Wemple was born in Fort Benning, GA on May 3, 1951 and was the son of the late Earl Scott and Jean Hickey Wemple. He had retired after more than 33 years of working with Waff Contracting, Inc. as an Engineer/Estimator.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Tynch.

   Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Mary Heintzleman Wemple; two daughters, Kate Wemple of Edenton and Melanie Wemple of Wilmington, NC; a son-in-law, Stan Tynch, Jr. of Edenton; two sisters, Jean Rogers of Unicoi, TN and Gail Coston of Apex; two brothers, Earl Scott Wemple of Riverview, FL and Tim Wemple of Flat Rock; and five grandchildren, Kelsei, Jacob, and Hunt Tynch, and Camdyn and Cooper Forehand.

   A gathering for family and friends will be held Monday, April 11, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nothin Fancy Café and Market, 701 North Broad Street, Edenton. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   Memorial contributions may be to any chapter of the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).

   An avid motorcyclist and member of the American Motorcycle Association, Pat’s motto in life, and as a last thought for his family and friends, would simply be, “Stay Calm and Ride On”.
