Richard Andrew Blanchard

   Richard Andrew Blanchard, 73, of Shortcut Road, Barco, NC, died Friday, April 8, 2016 in his home.

   Mr. Blanchard was born in Currituck County on March 2, 1943, and was the son of the late Andrew and Lena Smith Blanchard. Retired from Civil Service as an Executive Officer of Training, Development and Analysis at Fort Monroe, he was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sidney Blanchard.

   Surviving are his two daughters, Catherine Sue Kaupas and husband Tom of Chesapeake, VA and Sandra Lynn Cramer and husband Eric of Milton, GA; a sister, Eunice Morrow of Lincolnton; and six grandchildren, Grace, Thomas, Jack, Annabelle, Lily and Ben.

   A private service will be held. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Coinjock Ruritan Club, 130 Coinjock Baptist Church Road, Coinjock, NC 27923 or to The Whalehead Club, 1100 Club Road, Corolla, NC 27927.
