Mary Mae Bullock

   Mary Mae Sizemore Bullock, 91, of High Street, Hertford, NC, died Monday, April 11, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

  Mrs. Bullock was born in Yadkin County on November 23, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Dewey Columbus and Emma Anna Mull Sizemore.  Employed as a bookkeeper with Lockheed Martin for several years, she later worked as a department manager for Roses, Robert Hall, and Fabricfic.  A Methodist by faith, in earlier years she was a member and past guardian of Bethel #33 of Job's Daughters in Norfolk, VA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Bullock, a granddaughter, Tara Kotelman, a great-grandson, Drake Jameson McCollum, and by a brother, The Rev. William G. Sizemore.

   Surviving are her three daughters, Frances Teresa Shacklock of Hertford, Mary Jacquelyn Crawford and husband Kenneth of The Villages, FL, and Debra Ann Riter and husband Wesley of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Josephine Parker of Brevard and Emma Ann Clark of Garner; a brother, Dewey Sizemore, Jr.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

   A private graveside service will be held in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of American (www.mymsaa.org) or to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
