Virgil William Leisure

   Virgil William Leisure, 64, of Hertford, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Leisure was born in Madison County, IN on August 22, 1951, and was the son of the late George Truman and Mary Jane McPherson Leisure.  A retired electrician, he was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gracie Roemer.

   Surviving are his loving wife, Betty Leisure; five sons, Joseph Leisure, and Henry, Michael, James, and Phillip Roemer; three sisters; two brothers; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hertford.

   Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 224 West Main Street, Hertford, NC 27944.
