Donald Eugene Morris

   Donald Eugene Morris, US Navy Retired, 75, of 104 Erie Trail, Edenton, NC, died Friday, April 22, 2016 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Hertford.

   Mr. Morris was born in Chipley, FL on April 7, 1941, and was the son of the late Brown and Myrtle Mathis Morris. A retired Master Chief from the US Navy after 26 years of service, he enjoyed many hobbies including traveling, playing golf, fishing, and working on cars.

   Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Jane Deason Morris; two daughters, Kelly Applegate and husband Donnie of Farmville, VA and Donna Walker of Chipley; a son, Greg Zambelli and wife Karen of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service.
