Thelma Rosalie Tucker Miller, 88, of 300 Coree Trail, Edenton, NC, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Elizabeth City Health & Rehab.
Mrs. Miller was born in Baltimore, MD on September 10, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Leon and Kathryn Mims Weiss. Formerly employed with General Electric Corp., in years past she was active in Deep Creek United Methodist Church on George Washington Highway and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jerry White, and by brothers, Earl and Paul Tucker.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Ross of Tampa, FL and Sheila Collins of Jacksonville, FL; three sons, Wayne Sawning of Chesapeake, VA, Ralph Sawning of Jacksonville, FL, and Craig Miller of Ocean Springs, Miss; her former husband and companion, W.L. “Bill” Miller of Edenton; 14 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14th, at 11:00 a.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery, City Park, Portsmouth, VA, and will be officiated by the Rev. Darryl Stallings. The family will assemble at the grave at 10:30 a.m. in preparation of services. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements.
