Joan King Perry

   Joan Leigh King Perry, 64, of 705 Yeopim Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in her home.

   Mrs. Perry was a native of Gates County, born November 27, 1951 to the late Lionel Vincent and Iola Leigh King. Retired from Chowan Medical Center, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll McCoy Perry, on November 1, 2011.

   Surviving are her daughter, Angela Perry Kotel of Edenton; two sons, Chris Perry and wife Josie of Hobbsville, and David Perry and wife April of Edenton; her sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Perry of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Kimberly, Devon, Tyler, Caroline, Lucas, and Kayleigh; a great-grandchild, Hayden; and her best friend, Pam Byrum Spear of Edenton.

   Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery and will be officiated by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, is handling arrangements.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Edenton Baptist Church, 200 South Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
