Bruce Elbert Winslow

   Bruce Elbert Winslow, 76, of 1579 NC Hwy 32 North, Corapeake, NC, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 in his home.

   Mr. Winslow was born in Gates County on February 18, 1940, and was the son of the late Edd Ocil and Myrtle Copeland Winslow. A retired machine installation foreman from Newport News Shipbuilding, he was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. A veteran, he had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Winslow.

   Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Irma Klehm Winslow; two daughters, Karen Greene and husband Percy of Eure and Kathy Lowe and husband Randy of Gatesville; a son,, Kevin Winslow and wife Kelly of Corapeake; two brothers, Eddie Winslow of Gates and Don Winslow of Kenly; six grandchildren, Adam Greene and wife Lindsey, LeAnne Greene, Kyle and Katelyn Lowe, and Hunter and Hayden Winslow; and a great-grandchild due in November.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by the Rev. Ray Brickhouse. Burial with military honors will follow in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence.
