Christine Weston Berryman

   Christine Weston Berryman, 95, of Hertford, NC passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton, NC.

   Christine was born on February 7, 1921 in Hyde County, NC and the daughter of the late Lawrence Jones and Margaret Fisher Weston.  She was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church, its Mary Martha Circle, was active in the Holiday Island Civic League, and had served as a volunteer with the Newbold-White House. She was an avid line dancer at the Perquimans County Senior Center competing in the Senior Games for many years.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Oliver Berryman, Jr., four sisters and two brothers.

   Surviving are her two daughters, Janice Mangiaracina and husband John of Clayton, NC  and Janet Ambrose of Elizabeth City, NC, five grandchildren, John (Laurie) Mangiaracina, Anna (Reese) Edgington, Guy and Robert Ambrose, and Matthew (Trina) Mangiaracina; three great-grandchildren, Madysen and Gavin Edgington, and Ava Grace Ambrose; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and numerous friends.

   A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Hertford United Methodist Church and will be officiated by The Rev. Jane Leechford.  Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service.  Miller & Van Essendeflt, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians and staff of Vidant Chowan Hospital for their exceptional care and support during their time of need.
