Irvin Thomas Huggins, 61, of Elizabeth City, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Thomas was born on December 15, 1954 in Pasquotank County and was the son of the late Edward F., Sr. and Gloria Twine Huggins. Employed with IXL for many years, he later worked as a self-employed car salesman. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Louise Huggins.
Surviving are his brother, Frankie Huggins and wife Diane of Camden; three sisters, Anne Tracy and husband Vic, and Shirley White and husband David, all of West Bountiful, UT, and Wanda Westover and husband Ted of Centerville, UT; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 600 West Ehringhaus Street, Elizabeth City. Bishop Jeff Hampton will preside. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m., and again immediately following the church service on Tuesday. Following the Tuesday visitation, the family will go for the Dedication of the Grave at New Hollywood Cemetery, and any friends who wish to attend are invited to do so.
The family is meeting at Frankie and Diane's home, 125 Marla's Way, Camden. They request no fresh flowers be sent to the home due to allergies of some family members.
