Floyd Matthews

   Johnnie Floyd Matthews, 71, of Hertford, NC, died Monday, June 20, 2016 in Hertford Manor.

   Mr. Matthews was born in Pasquotank County on March 14, 1945, and was the son of the late Johnnie Floyd, Sr. and Dorothy Whedbee Mathews. A retired farmer, he was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church.

   Surviving are his daughter, Sheryl Korzeniowski and husband Daniel of Camden; a son, John Matthews of Dubai; a sister, Nancy Matthews Robertson of Washington; and four grandchildren, Brendon, Ashton, Payton, and Xavier.

   A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Woodland United Methodist Church and will be officiated by his pastor, The Rev. Toni Wood. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
