L. Earl Blanchard

   Leslie Earl Blanchard, 77, of 147 Sandy Ridge Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mr. Blanchard was born in Chowan County on November 25, 1938, and was the son of the late Leslie Eugene and Nancy Boyce Blanchard. Retired from Harvey Point, he was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Blanchard.

   Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lucille Darden Blanchard; his children and their spouses, Teresa and Harry Ward, and Craig and Vickie Blanchard, all of Tyner; a brother and his wife, George and Pam Blanchard of Seymour, TN; a sister-in-law, Kay Blanchard of Virginia Beach, VA; three granddaughters, Micah Lynch (Chad), and Rachel and Sarah Ward; three step-grandchildren, Kristie Williams (David), and Tony and Mandy Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Raelyn Lynch; and two step-great-grandchildren, Drew Jordan and Kristen Williams.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Center Hill Baptist Church, and will be officiated by his pastor, The Rev. Russell Blanchard. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements.  Friends may join the family at the residence.
