Charles Baker Morgan, 84, of 112 W. Queen Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Mr. Morgan was born in Chowan County on January 31, 1932, and was the son of the late Charles Scott and Guila Quessie Ward Morgan. The retired owner of Charles Morgan Painting & Wallpaper Contracting, he was a member of Edenton Baptist Church, the Edward G. Bond Post #40 of the American Legion, and had formerly served in the Edenton Lions Club and the Edenton Jaycees. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Morgan Craig and Emogene Morgan; by a half-brother, John Paul Morgan; and by nephews Robert and Frank Craig.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ann Agnew Morgan; two daughters, DeAnne Morgan Warren and husband Mike of Apex, and Linda Morgan Letchworth and husband Ricky of Wilson; his son, Bruce Morgan and wife Vicki of Branson, MO; five grandchildren, Cameron Letchworth Elks and husband Vann, Baker Morgan and wife Jennifer, and Zac, Colby, and Josh Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Eden Elks, a great-granddaughter due to be born any day, Maddie Rose Morgan; and by two nephews, Bill Craig and wife Susan, and Carroll Craig and wife Ahn.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church and will be officiated by The Rev. David Brooks. A private burial in Beaver Hill Cemetery will precede the service. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting with arrangements. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
