Albert Ray Phillips

   Albert Ray "Al" Phillips, 84, of 150 Sunset Circle, Hertford, NC, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in his home.

   Mr. Phillips was born in Knox County, OH on October 28, 1931, and was the son of the late Harley Monroe and Eva Hurle Phillips. An Army veteran, he had retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 following 21 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McGee Phillips, and by two brothers.

   Surviving are his four sons, Thomas Phillips and wife Linda of Newport News, VA, Mike Phillips and wife Ann of Wichita Falls, TX, Keith Phillips of Indianapolis, IN, and David Phillips and wife Elleanor of Richmond, VA; a brother, Keith Phillips of Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

   A private service will be held. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
