Ann Baynor Phelps

   Elizabeth Ann Baynor Phelps, 81, of Paradise Road, Edenton, NC, and formerly of Highway 64, Creswell, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Edenton.

   Mrs. Phelps was born in Virginia on September 24, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Haywood Garland Baynor, Sr. and Martha Adams Baynor. The retired owner and operator of Sherry Ann’s Beauty Salon, she was a member of Scuppernong Church of Christ.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Andrew Phelps, Sr.; a sister, Peggy Lassiter; a brother, Bobby Baynor; and by a great-grandson, John Wayne Patrick.

   Surviving are her daughter, Sherry P. Warren and husband Keith of Edenton; her son, Wade A. “Andy” Phelps, Jr. and wife Kelli of Creswell; two sisters, Judy Edwards of Creswell and Marion DesJardins of Edenton; a brother, Haywood G. “Buddy” Baynor, Jr. of Beuna Vista, GA; six grandchildren, Heath Patrick and wife Amy, Heidi Spear and husband Ryan, Holly Holt and husband Brent, and Hunter, Evan, and Reagan Phelps; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tucker Patrick, Aaron Knapp, and Katline Holt.

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Don Phelps. A private burial will be in Azalea Memorial Gardens, Columbia. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Wednesday.
