Katie O'Connor

   As a family, filled with great sorrow, we share the passing of our Katie, on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She was an amazing young woman who never complained and we will forever be grateful for her life with us.

   Kathryn Ashlin “Katie” O’Connor was born on August 14, 1970, in Albany, NY, and was the daughter of John and Kathie O’Connor. A graduate of Bishop Gibbons High, she was a freshman at Siena College when she was diagnosed with MS in 1988. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

   In addition to her parents, her family who survives are her sisters, Kara Kearney and husband Kevin, Maura Collins and husband Ed, and Marci Callahan O’Connor. Also she is lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, Jack and Dan O’Connor, Katie, Clare, and Ryan Kearney, and Meaghan, Aidan, and Helen Collins; and by her extended family, the Ted Burke, Don Morris, and Redmond Newell families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andy.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church, 207 N. Broad Street, Edenton, NC. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
