Joyce Bell Bolam

   Joyce Marie Bell Bolam, 73, of Academy Street, Ahoskie, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Bolam was born in Hertford County on October 5, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Randolph and Juanita Hall Bell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Bell; and by a step-grandson, Justin Matthews.

   Surviving are two daughters, Sheri Bolam-Matthews and husband Jeff of Colerain, and Kim Bolam of Winterville; a son, Joey Bolam and wife Deborah of Ahoskie; two sisters, Joan Clark of Gatesville and Barbara Mizelle of Ahoskie; two brothers, Wilmer Bell of Cofield and Earl Bell of Ahoskie; four grandchildren, Corey, Alexis, Hannah, and Gage Bolam; and a step-granddaughter, Bri-Anna Edwards, her husband Will; and their son, Colton.

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Center Grove Baptist Church and will be officiated by the Rev. Daniel Mullins. Friends may join the family in the social hall immediately following the service, and all other times at Joey and Deborah’s home, 117 Blackbeard Lane, Ahoskie.

   Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
