Barbara Anne Harrell

   Barbara Anne Harrell, 59, of 425 Reynoldson Road, Gates, NC, died Monday, September 12, 2016 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

   Ms. Harrell was born in Gates County on August 5, 1957, and was the daughter of the late Haywood Augustus and Revelle Baker Harrell. Employed as a warehouse manager with Electrical Equipment Company in Franklin, VA, she was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Harrell, and by two brothers, Tony and Ray Harrell.

   Surviving are her daughter, Renee’ Buck Benton and husband Adam of Ahoskie; a son, Duane Whitley of Gates; a sister, Doris Shingleton of Gates; a brother, Roy Harrell of Gatesville; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Reynoldson Baptist Church, and will be officiated by the Revs. Cody Brinkley and Billy Presley. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Relay for Life Hertford-Gates Counties, and may be made payable to the "American Cancer Society" or "Relay for Life", in care of Ginny Cowper, 893 NC 137, Eure, NC 27935.
