Patricia Galbraith Mathews

   Patricia Ann Galbraith Mathews, 71, of 1004 Arrowhead Trail, Edenton, NC, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.      Mrs. Mathews was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 6, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothea Raff Galbraith. A Registered Nurse, she had retired from Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Ruiz.      Surviving are her loving companion and husband of 31 years, Edward Richard “Ed” Mathews; two sons, Joseph Ruiz and wife Nadine of Smithtown, NY and Gary Ruiz and wife Carolene of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Dorothea Zollner of Portsmouth, VA and Kathy Gierke of Plant City, FL; and six grandchildren.      A memorial service will be held Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, and will be officiated by family friend, The Rev. Thomas Biggs.
