Clyde Orintha Weeks

   Clyde Orintha Weeks, 76, of 306 Dryridge Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

  

   Mr. Weeks was born in Pasquotank County on March 23, 1940, and was the son of the late Orintha Jones "Peter" and Margaret Rogerson Weeks.  Retired from the Norfolk Assembly Plant of Ford Motor Company following more than 38 years of employment, he enjoyed membership in various organizations including Pasquotank Tribe #8 Improved Order of Redmen in which he had served as Past Great Sachem of North Carolina, was a past member of Weeksville Volunteer Fire Department, the Elizabeth City Moose Lodge #1847, had served as treasurer of Dryridge Hunt Club, and had attended Corinth Baptist Church.  An avid fisherman, he had many fishing friends and stories to tell, and loved his garden and sharing his abundance with all his friends and neighbors. 

  

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Weeks Quidley.

  

   Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Linda Perry Weeks; six children, Denise Weeks Beales and husband Jim of San Antonio, TX, Laurie Weeks Jeffries and husband Tracy, Terry Clyde Weeks and wife Paula, all of Elizabeth City, Melissa McPherson McDonald and husband Buddy, Perry McPherson, and Andy McPherson, all of Hertford; a sister, Jackie Weeks Farkas; two brothers, Warren and Allen Weeks, all of Elizabeth City; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

  

   Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in New Hollywood Cemetery, and will be officiated by Wayne Winslow.  Friends may join the family at the residence.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

  

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Improved Order of Redmen, PO Box 1254, or to Weeksville Vol. Fire Dept., 2742 Peartree Road, both in Elizabeth City, NC 27909, or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
