Doris Jean Crummey Heath

   Doris Jean Crummey Heath, 90, of Emory Lane, Sunbury, NC, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Chowan River Health and Rehabilitation, Edenton.

   Mrs. Heath was born in Chowan County on October 30, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha Goodwin Crummey. A homemaker, she was a member Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first born daughter, Claudia Simpson, and by a grandson, Larry Walker.

   Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Eldon Burnell Heath; four daughters, Edith Moore and husband Mike, Mary Jane Pierce and husband Ray, Victoria Walker and fiancé Larry Duprey, all of Sunbury, and Margaret Strain and husband George of Hertford; two sisters, Harriet Moore and Ella Mae Parrish, both of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Tony, Johnny, and Penny; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Jennie, Ashley, Zach, and Abigail; and two great-great-granddaughters, Mikayla and Karly.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Tom Hall. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
