George W. Bunch, Jr.

   George W. Bunch, Jr., 91, of Virginia Beach, VA and formerly of Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, November 6, 2016.

   Mr. Bunch was born in Chowan County on October 6, 1925, and was the son of the late George W., Sr. and Blanche White Bunch. A retired kiln foreman with Weyerhaeuser Corp. in Plymouth, he was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church and the Edward G. Bond Post #40 of the American Legion. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Copeland Bunch; and by a brother, S.J. Bunch.

   Surviving are his daughter, Amanda B. Hansen and husband Steven of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Roger C. Bunch of Edenton.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services on Tuesday.

   Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
