Joyce Lowe McNeely

   Joyce Ann Lowe McNeely, 81, of 123 Powhatan Trail, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mrs. McNeely was born in Mercer, WV on April 20, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Maybelle Pigg Lowe. A homemaker, she was a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, its Women’s Ministry, and had taught in various programs in the Children’s Ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Pullen McNeely, and by a half-sister, Bertha Hill.

   Surviving are her son, Tommy McNeely of Corapeake; a daughter, Laura Ann Stump and husband David of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Heather and Shawn McNeely, and Mary Lauren Stump; and nine great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will be officiated by Pastor Danny Gurganus. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service. A private burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
