Norman Arthur “Barry” Caron, 75, of Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in his home.
Mr. Caron was born in Providence, RI on May 13, 1941, and was the son of the late Arthur Emile and Mary Carron Caron. Retired as a First Lieutenant from the United States Army and later as a Major from the South Carolina National Guard as an attorney with the Judge Advocate General’s Corp, he was a Vietnam veteran receiving numerous medals including the Purple Heart. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church, he was a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and had served as Director with the L.A.M.B. program.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Knight.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Joy Anderson Caron; a daughter, Paige Pollard and husband Gary of Pinnacle; a son, Barry Arthur Caron of Edenton; a sister, Arlene Knight of Freedom, NH; a brother, Colin Caron and wife Mary of Edenton; four grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Phillip, and Piper; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday at noon in St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, or to St. Anne Catholic Church, 207 N. Broad St., Edenton, NC 27932, designated for the L.A.M.B. program.
