Audrey Berryman Nixon

   Audrey Berryman Nixon, 91, of 129 Nixon Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Mrs. Nixon was born in Chowan County on August 6, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Dewey Hertell, Sr. and Tempie Perry Berryman. A homemaker, she was a faithful member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, the Faye Ober Sunday School Class and the Bertha Dale Circle.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Nixon.

   Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Boyce and husband Rob, and Becky Nixon, all of Edenton; her brother, D.H. Berryman of Hobbsville; six grandchildren, Farah Boyce, Kate Tayloe, Jim Boyce, Jessica Sadler, Erica West, and Rebecca Dodd; and seven great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church and will be officiated by her pastor, Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in the Nixon Family Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
