Joyce Lynch Lindly

   Joyce Dorothy Lynch Lindly, 76, of Hemlock St., Hertford, NC, died Friday, December 9, 2016 in Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.

   Mrs. Lindly was born in Billings, MT on January 18, 1940, and was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Dorothy Olinger Lynch. She was a member of Snug Harbor Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Joseph Lindly; a sister, Georgia Nelson; a brother, Tim Lynch; a granddaughter, Betsy Taft; and by a great-granddaughter, Emily Johnson.

   Surviving are her husband of 59 years, James Ernest Lindly; five daughters, Pam Nelson and husband Ed of Kelso, WA, Kim Howell and husband Jerry, II of Hertford, Lori Perron and husband Mike of Virginia Beach, VA, Vicky Ward and husband Hal of Suffolk, VA, and Debbie Taft of Greenville; two sisters, Jackie Califf and Sandy Honstein, both of Portland, OR; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be officiated by the Rev. Stanley Nixon. Friends may join the family in the social hall of Snug Harbor Community Church immediately following the service.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, 920 Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
